29/64″ Stub Drill Bit for Inserts
This 29/64″ stub drill bit is the best size to use with the push-in brass and stainless threaded inserts. It is recommended they be glued in with either a good wood glue or CA. You are merely filling a millimeter gap so when any glue hardens, it won’t allow the insert to come out. We were offering a 7/16″ bit which worked fine most of the time, however when it was a tight fit, it didn’t allow room for enough glue and when it was on the lathe being roughed out, the insert broke loose from the glue and would turn on the mandrel. This drill bit will allow more glue room.
