Stainless Steel Threaded Inserts made in Missouri.
Inserts are compatible with 7/16″ Stub drill bit. 5 minute epoxy works best for gluing the inserts in.
Inserts sold separately
These can be used with all of these products; stoppers, openers, and can tab pulls. This is an original design from our manufacturer, they have a cap on the top so you don’t have to worry about glue getting into the threaded area. They are 5/8″ high with the 3/8″ x 16 tpi internal thread and use a 7/16″ drill bit. Always drill the hole 1/4″ – 3/16″ deeper to allow for air compression when installing the insert. The outer surface is rough and has ribs that will thread into the wood. *note: these inserts need to be glued in to prevent them from getting loose if the wood moves, which all wood will do.

Making a bottle stopper with these Ruth Nile’s inserts is so much easier. Fantastic product.
Suzette Edwards –
These threaded inserts make life easy for doing a bottle stopper. I also like that the end user can then unscrew the stopper from the knob to wash it. Just a little glue, light tap with a mallet and poof, instant threads for the stopper.
Mike Benson –
These inserts are wonderful! They are easy to put in using a 7/16th inch drill bit and a little glue. Makes it easy to place and remove
handle for washing of the utensil. Great product that is out there for anyone to use.

I have used the threaded insert for the 1st time and I am really impressed with the results. I have been using a 7/16th inch drill bit to pre drill and it seems to work fine. A little glue along with a rubber mallet does just fine. I must say they are much better than the wood tap and glue. I think with this in mind I will order some more due to the ease and versatility of this insert. ps It is really a good way to clean and/or switch up a handle/bottle stopper.

Your bottle stoppers with threaded inserts make a clean product from my level of turner. I couldn’t be happier with the product.
I also bought a tap wrench but haven’t been able to master the use of it. This has just reinforced my purchase and use of the threaded inserts.
The mandrel I purchased just makes the process work easier for me.

Perfect for glass melters!

The cap on the end to keep the glue upt of the threads is an interesting idea. But what about ice cream scoops etc. That have a longer threaded stud than 5/8 in?

well let’s say they are freaking awesome . one trick carl did for me was that stub drill bit he sells those are the best thing to drill your hole with longer bits well you know.

I am totally impressed by the new machining applied to the s/s inserts. The inserts now actually screw into the wood. Please give my thanks to your supplier, it’s great to see people use their noodle to improve on a existing product. I made a simple tool for installing the insert. Now it’s easy to apply glue and screw in the insert to the desired depth. I just rub wax onto the threads of the tool to keep glue from sticking to it. I also use a 1/8 inch chisel to cut two shallow grooves in the wood to keep the inserts from ever spinning. This is needed as extra protection on the bottle stoppers because the horizontal pressure applied when using them.

Great product!

I love the ss inserts. As they’re easier to use than tapping soft woods and resin. Best I’ve used so far worked great for my wedding bottle stopper and made the rest as giveaway raffles.
James Olsen –
Excellent product, great quality. Eliminates long term oxidation by not having dissimilar metal contact. Projects will now stand the test of time. Thank you Ruth and also to your supplier.
